Leopold Museum

The Leopold Museum is a new building situated in Vienna’s most sought-after cultural area – the Museum Quarter. It houses one of the most important collections of Austrian art, focusing on the second half of the 19th century and subsequent Modernism. The core collection of the museum is based on the private collection of Rudolf and Elisabeth Leopold. Altogether, there are 6,000 artworks, including the world-famous works by Gustav Klimt, the founder of the Art Nouveau movement; the largest collection of works by Egon Schiele; and a collection of Wiener Werkstätte artworks by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser. The panoramic windows of the Leopold Museum offer a unique view of Vienna’s city centre with the Hofburg Palace. There is also a shop with souvenirs and the Café Leopold with a terrace. Cars can be parked in the parking garage right in front of the main entrance to the Museumsquartier. It is open 24/7.
